Speaker specs

i am going to buy some speakers (travel speakers for my mp3 player), i am wanting to get the best sound quality possible, does the following specs appear to give good output?

 

- Audio Output: 2 x right / left channel - 39 mm
- Sound Output Mode: Stereo
- Output Power / Total: 2 Watt

- Features: Magnetic shield
- Impedance: 8 Ohm
- Max Speakers Qty: 2
- Output Power / Channel: 1 Watt

- Speaker(s): 2 x right / left channel - 39 mm - 1 Watt 

 

according to that specs will it be able to output good quality audio at a loud level?

Those spescs don't really tell you much. It mostly deals with power, but power isn't a good indicator of loudness and many maufactures can give misleading values.  For an indication of loudness you'd need to know the sensivity (coupled with power) of the speaker. Other specs you should look out for are frequency response, easy to get high frequency (> 20kHz), but lower frequencies are much harder (< 100Hz) and then there's the roll off SPL (sound pressure level) in decibels of the lower frequencies. But this is far too much information for an MPS player. I don't think it will be too loud, but as with most things, you get what you pay for.

The phillips �15 travel speakers are awesome value for money, really good sound for the size.

how loud do u mean by loud. 2 watts is enough in a medium room for you to just listen to but don't expect to run a party on them. advoid plastic speakers as they tend to vibrate and make horrible noises.
