lost photos

is there a way to retrieve lost photos that were put on a disc? when the disc is loaded into the computer, it says that the photos are there, but there is just no way of acsessing them and then it crashes the computer. any suggestions? thanx

I have used a freeware called digital image recovery in the past but I can't find where I downloaded it from. I have posted it on my webspace at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sybian/Digital%20Image%20Recovery.zip you just run the setup and then run the installed software and point it at the drive the disc is in. Usual caveats apply, own risk, no guarantee blah blah blah, I can say though that it seems to work well and as far as I can tell has no malicious code in it.
