Do you know the title of this book?

A children's or young adult book that was in my public school library cir. 1965 (I read it when I was about 11 or 12 years of age) about youngsters finding a bridge in the forest and when they cross it they find themselves in a miniature kingdom.

not sure of the book but sounds very similar to the recent film Bridge to Terabithia
