On the 11/08/08 I was caught by a camera van doing 59 in 50 limit.
I was driving a Hire Vehicle and received an NIP on 22/10/08.
Does the 14 day rule apply?
I believe they get longer to trace you as they will write firstly to the registered keeper (the hire company ) asking them to identify the driver (you) before then contacting you with the NIP. Same applies to company cars (which is where my experience comes from) and any others where the registered keeper/owner is not necessarily the driver.
LCD is correct, the 124 day rule will not apply here. The
"registered keeper" has to receive the first NIP within 14 days. As it was not your car the hire company would have got this and nominated you as driver.
