anemia question?
i recently found out that i am anemic from my 28 weeks blood test. i am now 30 weeks and been prescribed tablets which had to be changed to medicine as i was very very ill from taking these. after a few days of taking the medicine i am still being sick etc. i am waiting to see my midwife to speak to her but in the meantime does anyone no if i have another blood test after 28 weeks?? and what will happen if i do not take the iron tablets/medicine???

Poor you! I too had to take the dreaded iron tablets. The first ones I took also made me ill (ferrous sulphate). I spoke to my GP and he prescribed me a slightly different type of iron tablet (ferrous fumarate) which caused me no adverse side effects.
If you are vomiting, chances are you are not actually absorbing much of the iron anyway.
Do not panic. Make an appointment to see your GP and explain your side effects and ask if they could swap you to an alternative type of iron supplement. With any luck you will be given one which suits you better.
If you decide not to take the iron tablets, believe you me, you will feel so ill and tired that you will be beating down your GPs door begging them to do something!
