Who is 'They'?
For CC:
'They' appears to mean this:
http://www.cgscreditcards.co.uk/

For Curtisktd:
CGS are brokers. They promise to get you a credit card and/or bank account, but they'll charge you a fee. (Looking at a few web reviews, that appears to be 49.95).

If CGS can get you a credit card (and/or a bank account) you can do it yourself without paying any fees (and without the risk of losing any money).

If CGS offer you a credit card, it's likely to be with Capital One. They'll give a credit card to almost anyone with the lowest of credit ratings. The interest rates can be horrendous but you can pay back everything each month (without incurring any interest) and thus build up a better credit rating, allowing you to apply for alternative cards with lower interest rates.

If CGS tell you that they can get you a bank account, it's likely to be a 'basic' account. Almost anyone can get such an account. See here for details:

There's absolutely no reason to use the services of a broker, such as CGS. Given that your finances are probably fairly tight anyway, it would seem to be absolute madness to throw away 50 quid on a service that you don't need.
