Loro Parque - Tenerife
12 Answers
Has any of you out there been to Loro Parque in Tenerife - I was thinking of going one day when I'm on my holidays in October and was wondering what people think of it. Also does anyone know how long it takes to get there from Los Cristianos, we'll probably be going on a coach trip rather than hiring a car ourselves. Thanks

The "Penguinarium" itself is worth a visit - the penguins are in an enclosed BIG space at their normal icy temperature and you move along outside on a conveyor belt.
Coach from south is about an hour but impossible to really say because of time taken picking up. Although there is just so much to see in the Parque, you will probably find that the time allowed is O.K. because you will be walking so much

there is also a monkey park which isn't very well advertised
if you google monkey park tenerife you will get reviews it is suppose to be next door to the cactus park. You are allowed in with the monkeys to feed them this place seems to run on word of mouth will try and find it and post a wee bit about it when i come back!

just back did the monkey zoo park you'll get a leaflet from
tourist information and the jungle park had saw enough animals after that so didn't bother going to loro parque there are free buses that go to the jungle park and loro park your hotel will be able to tell you were to get them from highly recommend the monkey zoo park as it is one of the lesser known places was there for hours you can go in a cage with little monkeys and lemurs it was great took plenty fruit with us to feed them you can also buy bags of seed and bread for 2 euros at the door which all the animals enjoy only 12 euros each to get in 5 mins in a taxi from los cristianos a couple told us the cactus park next door has shut down but i'm not sure we didn't go and see if they were right?
enjoy!

Fantastic - the weather was lovely apart from the last day was a bit cloudy! Went to Loro Parque the day before we came home - it was 79 euros for the two of us which included the bus trip from Los Cristianos and the entry fee. It is definately worth a visit, however now I've been I can't say I'd be desparate to go again cos once you've seen it you've seen it - but definately worth seeing! (I'm only saying that cos I read on one review some bloke saying that they go every time they go to Tenerife!!?). Watched all the shows they have on - the orcas, the dolphins, the sea lions and the parrots, the sea lions were by far the best but the others good too! Other than visit Loro Parque we didnt do anything but sit on a sun lounger and eat far too much! Had the weather not been perfect we would have probably gone to the monkey park you mentioned for the day but there is always next time! I'm now sat at work, back to reality, still sat in my coat cos its that bloody cold in the office wishing I was still there!
