A very close friend of mine is getting cremated at the weekend.
To add to my grief I have one major dilemma. I need to get rid of a wrench. If I put it in the casket along with my dear friend, will it be completely destroyed by fire or when the ashes are gathered up and placed into vase will the wrench we there for all to see?
Just wondering. And if anyone has any better ideas can they let me know. Time is running out.
Thanks.

give it to Martin let him get rid of it
When my mother was cremated, the undertakers recovered her metal artificial hip joint and sent it away for recycling, it was like the organ donor scheme, a bit of a wrench for all concerned.

Looks like Ill have to find another way.
Anyone know the where the deepest lake in the UK is?

that's intriguing...

though a wrench in a casket would be highly suspicious, so if i were you i'd dispose of it elsewhere

I'm confident the wrench wouldn't be destroyed. Sorry to ask, FlipFlaps, but did your friend die peacefully? Just that it's an odd question!
If I were you I'd just hand it over to the police - along with Katy 'cos she's getting on my nerves now!!
Why don't you have some real fun and slip it into Tracey's handbag?
I personally believe that they save the caskets and do not incinerate them so the wrench would be found. By way of interest why??  Best to bung it in a deep lake.
I wouldn't put it in the coffin if I was you . You never know , they might open the coffin before the cremation for some obscure reason. Then you'd feel a right platt er pratt.
Hmmm... In real life you aren't perhaps, a Butler, are you?  Keep in mind that fingerprints can survive extreme heat... (BTW, at least in the U.S., the caskets are required to be burned with the cremation process, hence the general use of inexpensive containers)...

Get Cilla to swallow it, sideways.

..I was having such a bad day until I read this, ta you've cheered me up no end... can't you hit katie over the head with it  n 'all to shut her up ...ssssheeesssh now she's a gal who really knows how to " do your head in"....
