Advertisers gone mad? Gary Glitter
Who would want anything associated with Gary Glitter these days? Even though he's not singing in the advert, the song is still recognisably his - probably his most famous song.
What on earth was the advertising company thinking of?

It also reads that the payment to Glitter has not yet been confirmed....!
I wasn't happy with this, so phoned them to say "seeing that no other country wants him, I would hope that it's not aired anywhere in the world, let alone the UK - otherwise he will still receive some royalties!".
I await their reply......

It would seem it was an unfortunate blunder by HP or their advertising executive.
If they have now withdrawn this particular advert and have not paid Glitter any money, it should now be an end to the matter.
While on the subject of this vile person it got me thinking, if he was to write his autobiography, I wonder how many would be rushing down to pick up a copy?
