That's why you don;t enjoy food you cook as much as when someone puts it in front of you. If you are cooking, your urgeg to eat is aroused, but not satisfied straight away, so the edge goes off the urge by the time you sit down to eat. Anyone having the meal put in front of them has their irge to eat aroused, and satisfied at the same time, so full enjoyment ensues.
In either case, the initial stimulus receedes as the meal is eaten. Dessert brings a new stimulus, both smell and sight senses are 're-aroused' and the urge to eat returns, no matter how 'full' you thought you were.
