Pakora or samosa
or bhaji.

Definately bhaji.  Tempura is japanese?  Samosa and pakora are in pastry type stuff.

Bhaji is just spoonfuls of onions, veggies or whatever takes your fancy, dipped in the batter and then fried.

I think rimidin is looking for bhajis.
Tempura is indeed a Japanes speciality; samosas are pastry triangles filled with meat or veg; pakoras are pieces of meat, fish or veg deep-fried in a spicy batter made with chickpea flour (aka gram flour or besan).
Onion bhajis are called 'bhajis' only in the UK. If you went to india and asked for onion bhajis you will get blank stares. In india they are called 'bhajiyas'. Bhaji is something completely different and is like a dryish curry with vegetables and usually part of a main course or a side dish. So you could have potato bhaji or brinjal bhaji etc...
Pakora it is then!
