Well done for discovering this guy... he is brilliant !

Copperhead Road is one of his earlier albums and the title track still sends shivers up my spine ! His work with the Dukes is great too, so you can't go wrong there... I love *Shut Up and Die Like An Aviator* - there's some cracking tracks on there.. from Guitar Town to I Ain't Ever Satisfied...

I own all of his albums and would find it hard to jettison any of them.... so my advice is to buy them all (gradually, if you can) and then start buying some of his sister's work - Stacey Earle - she is another amazing musician ....hehe... what have I started now..

Hey I'll even try to spell your name correctly next time.
100% agree - Copperhead Road is a great starting point. Great taste in music there too btw!
You might like to try Joan Baez's new album, which he produced, and wrote songs for - supherb!

Read the fascinating interview with her in this month's 'Acoustic' magazine - at any WH Smith's.

I know it's fabulous - I wrote it!

Hi Andy I'll try and get around to reading your review soon.
The pedigree for the album looks good. Is the title track by the ONE AND ONLY TOM WAITS?. My all time favourite. Darrell Scott i'm familiar with via Guy Clark, pre The Bluegrass Dukes. Not surprised at the collabaration doesn't Steve list her as one of his hero's on Just An American Boy for her cover of Joe Hill at Woodstock (I Think)
