I am female aged 64 and have had my state pension since i turned 60. My husband will be 65 in 5 months time. Will he get his own separate pension or do we get a joint one?
It depends on your respective national insurance contribution records, but from what you say it looks like you will get two separate pensions.
The joint one only kicks in where the spouse has insufficient contributions for one in their own right, or where relying on the other's contributions produces a bigger pension than their own.
