Internet Explorer

I have just updated and installed, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7. Which i am happy with, and it seems to be more advanced than my original one. I now have an icon on the bottom left of my task bar that tells me, Windows Messenger has not signed in, as i am still finding my way round the system, i don`t understand what this means. PLEASE HELP. Any advice will be very welcome. "Thank You" in advance.

Do you use Messenger (an instant message service)? If not, ignore it.

You can disable it altogether if you wish

I didn`t understand the icon, so i didn`t want to click on it to cause problems. " Thank You so much.
