I bought large quantities of Dorset Nagas last Autumn and put them straight into the freezer (except for the one I ate raw - gradually!). When it's time to cook a curry, I just take one or two out, chop while still frozen, and lob into the pot.
For adding zest to, say, a jalfrezi however, you need to add fresh green chillies.
p.s. why are you buying chillies from Tesco? Don't you have any local Indian grocers? - much cheaper.
