I received frequent photos and letters from him but havent for a few years - possibly because I changed address.
I would like to think in some small way I was able to help him fulfil his potential and enable him to have a rewarding life.

Mr and I have sponsored a boy in India for a few years now. We have had photos, letters and reports and I have a drawing of a lotus flower tucked safely away.
He was a shy, skinny little thing but now a smiling, confident teenager.
It is a long term commitment, not expensive and the money not only helps him but also the other children in his Himalayan village.
My sons sometimes ask if we have heard from 'the other son'. They call him 'Dave'!

I sponsored Prem Khaokemung from Thailand from his age 11 to 18. It cost 11 per month, which covered his schooling and medical expenses. At 18 he had to go into a temple to study and learn about life, for two years, after which he could return to his village, and use the skills etc., which he had learned to help the people of his village. He lived with his very elderly grandma, and I have a lovely photo of them both. During the years I sponsored Prem, I received many letters (and drawings, when he was small). It's a really worthwhile and helpful thing to do, and there are so many children around the world who need that help.

We sponsor Esebia in Zimbabwe. Its nice to see pictures of her growing, basic school reports and get a drawing now and then.
We sent some extra money for her birthday one year and got a lovely letter back telling us exactly what it had been spent on with photos - a dress for Esebia, a goat for the family and paper and pencils for the school. Feel good factor doesnt get much better than that !
