Hi. I have an L reg Peugeot 306 that will only start if bump started. Have taken it to a garage and they reckon its the starter motor. I was wondering if it could be a loose connection somewhere? Also, would a jump starter from halfords start the car or is it only for flat batteries? Thanks.

Ist, get your battery checked is it the type you add Dist water to? if not you battery may be on the way out, 2nd/ check the connections from the battery's earth wire, If dirty clean it, then check the wires running down to your stater, check that the connection at the solinoid are clean & tight, also check that the starter is tight in the bellhousing.
