Temporary traffic lights

On a main road there were a lot of road works going on and a big set of traffic lights were out, I saw the temporary lights too late and went through on red. They were badly placed and I wasn't the only one, but are temporary lights ever hooked up to the cameras to catch when people jump red lights or do I not need to worry?

I work in roadworks all the time and have never heard of cameras linked to temp TL's. The only place you normally get cameras are on motorway/dual c'way sections of roadworks with a reduced speed limit.

I should be fine then, thanks for the speedy reply. I should be a bit more careful in the future though I guess :)
never heard of someone getting done @ temporary traffic lights
No, don't worry about it. We have some near us and people regularly come through on red if there's no cars waiting on the other side.
they have a dummy camera to put folk off but they dont actually work
I've just been issued a fixed penalty notice for failing to stop at temporary red lights.
They were set up at a roadworks resurfacing a mini roundabout, long queues in all directions and no possibility of travelling over 5mph. There was never any chance of a collision (I had my 2 yr old grandson in the back and never take any risks - 1st endorsement in 40 years of driving).
A warning would have been sufficient!
The traffic cop didn't follow me through the lights so I can only presume he was lying in wait.
I wonder if he caught any of the people in the queue on their mobiles?
