Billy Liar

My grandma often says my little sister is Billy Liar. Has anyone else heard of him? I assume he lied a lot! We're geordie as well so i dont know, is this just a geordie thing?

IAP is correct (although it was written by Keith Waterhouse AND Willis Hall). It's also a really funny film and well worth catching if it's ever on TV.

Yeah Snappy - as Pickle says.

The book is well worth a read and not 'hard' nor long - 150 pages. It's also Literature - my sister uses it in her English classes because Dickens puts them off.

The film is great! made around 1965, black and white. Great if you live in Manchester because so much has been pulled down. Tom Courtenay and Julie Christie star with Rigsby from Rising Damp as another clerk.

Are you sure about Manchester as thr principal city in Billy Liar? My memory leads me to Bradford and its surrounds as the main city portrayed.
