I need to give my employer a P45 so that he can put me on the company books, does this necesarily have to be from my last job or just within a certain time frame. as its a temporary job at the rate I'm going i may have left before i get one from the jobcentre or the agency.
I was on the jobcentre for 1 day, I'm not sure if they will issue a P45 considering they refused to give me job seekers alowance (and they are in for a boolocking)
yea I'm not too worried about emergency tax as I'd get it back fairly quikely. I just want to make sure that I'm in line with giving my new temp employer what he needs and make sure I get paid on time
An interesting interpretation of the spelling for 'giving them a right old ticking off'', Thunderchild.
Your employer should know that they merely get you to fill in a P46 form to put you on their database, if you don't have the P45. They should have a few - you can probably download one off the HMRC website if your Google the phrase.
put it this way (for the ticking off) if they paid me JSA 8 months ago, how can they turn round and now say that I have not paid enough NI contributions to qualify to JSA ? considering I have just worked 7 months solid and when I did 4 hours overtime I was screwed by another 50 % on my NI and now turn round and say its not enough ! me rhinks there are some silent guidelines in action now that the country is deep into it and people are loosing their jobs left right and centre. Of course they then expect ME to be honest with them....
Could be because 8 months ago we were in the previous tax year. The rules on eligibility for contribution-based JSA are pretty clear (but I can't remember all of them without looking them up).
What I do remember is that they depend on having enough NI contributions in a previous (defined) period.
Worth checking out for yourself, but I'm afraid they may be correct about this.
yes but previously I got JSA with even less NI payments ! my last job was the longest i have had yet. whats changed is the number of people they are having to help.
Then you must have received income-based JSA before.
Rules depend on the amount of savings you have and if your partner works. Also one has to deliver against a 'contract' of one's commitment to take certain minimum steps to find a job. Maybe this is the area that is being tightened up.
my savings have not changed as I'd only just applied its not like they could turn round and say I had not done my part as I had not yet had time to go back to them after 2 weeks as I found a job the day after I claimed (but they did not know this at the time of making the decision) the only thing that has changed is the fact that I certainly have paid much more NI contributions since I last received JSA, the truth is they are treying to cut back !
