Poorly head in the morning
11 Answers
Has anyone ever woke in the morning with what I can only describe as a hangover without having a drink. I have been to the doctor a few times and they seem to shrug there shoulders. I have had this for a while I even went to a specialist (costing me quite a lot ) she said wheat intolerance .I changed my diet and it seemed to work for a while, now it is back again. ( so I am back on wheat) Sometimes it is not to bad with mild headache lots of wind, once I am up and about it passes. other times I am physically sick with like a migrane headache and this last til the afternoon then I am fine again. This does not happen offen and it is usually if I have been out for a meal and had one or two drinks. Its a long shot but thought I would ask the question xx

I looked up things like sleep apnoea and sleep issues associated with disorders like fibromyalgia.
I used to love loads of pillows but tried sleeping much flatter and it made a huge difference.
Are you on any medication or have any conditions like migraines or allergies which could be set off by allergens and such in the bedroom while you are sleeping?

Yes I used to get this all the time mainly when I was in my early 20's and used to lay in at weekends. I just get up earlier now. I find that if I sleep in I am ill and in bed for rest of day, so I get up early and have a afternoon nap, jeez I;m old :-) I used be sick alot from it and when I went to docs he didnt really know and suggested it was a withdrawal from coffee as I drink it at work but not weekends???? I agree with ethel though, not about opening windows Brrrr but not having heating on so much as I always get bad sinus problems with the heat which doesnt help the headache. And just red chazzas which is quite interesting because wasnt till I went on my girly hol that they told me I grind my teeth which I never knew.
This happens to me a lot. I have neck problems and am a tooth grinder too. I suffer from IBS and migraine as well. I always sleep in a cool room with a window open. (OMG I am a wreck!)
In fact most days I wake up with a slight headache and hangover feeling - it would be lovely to wake up feeling bright and refreshed!! Some days the headaches are intolerable, but by afternoon I am fine.

Many thanks for your answers. Most of your suggestions I already do. I never sleep in, I am an early riser . I nearly always sleep well, my bedroom is never over heated, and I dont think I tooth grind ,at least my husband does not complain. I will try sleeping without my pillow and see if it makes any difference. I have always felt it was some kind of food intolerance but which food? Thanks again xx
