hi there butter can be left out at room temperature it will last longer if its kept in an airtight tub.you should try and take out smaller amounts from the fridge at a time.
The only butter I keep in the fridge are the spare unopened packs. Once opened, I never keep my butter in the fridge - it is impossible to spread.

I keep mine in an insulated butter dish that doesn't keep it cold but does stop it melting.
