Is it a laptop? The wireless adapter sounds like a card that fits in the large slot - like this one:

Or it could be inside the pc or laptop.

The 6to4 adapter is something very technical that converts Internet Protocol v.6 to Internet Protocol v.4. It is not something most computer users ever need to know about, think about or understand.

thanks very much. its a laptop. would it of been supplied with comp or do you fit them yourself
Well, if your laptop was bought wireless enabled, it came supplied with it.

If it isn't wireless enabled you buy either a card adapter for the large slot at the side, or a usb wireless adapter like this one?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-802-11g-Wireles s-Network-Adapter/dp/B0006374PK

Obviously the slot in card one is better - it doesn't take up a usb port and wont get knocked
I think you'll find that (depending on the make/model) this "extra" becomes more popular as the idea of mini pci takes off.

wireless is moving quite fast - as is the idea of lappys as gaming machines.

BT have moved from 802.11b - n as their standard incredibly quickly - and manufacturers gain the advantage that they can be cutting edge without having to re-design the whole mobo.
It looks like the "standard" is or will be 2 slots, with network card in slot0

a network card consists of a number of devices - normally using a single driver - in this case they are showing seperately.
