Nitrogen is the most plentiful gas in the atmosphere. It is colorless, odorless, non-flammable, and non-toxic. Over 78% of the atmosphere is nitrogen. Gaseous nitrogen is usually referred to as "N2" or simply N2. Back to Top
Liquid Nitrogen is chilled, condensed gaseous nitrogen. It is also colorless, odorless, non-flammable, and non-toxic. It is also extremely cold (LN2 boils at -324 F or -210 C) and because of this intense cold, handling this material requires the use of protective gloves and goggles. Liquid Nitrogen is normally referred to as "LN2". Commercial nitrogen is produced by a variety of air separation processes, including cryogenic liquefaction and distillation, pressure swing adsorption (PSA), and membrane separation...

Clanad, I thought you might at least have removed "Back to Top" before you copy-pasted your answer from here.  Even if it is well known that your answers are nearly always lifted from other websites, it is only polite to give credit to the original author.  I don't mean to start an argument, it's just that it may appear to some people that you write these answers yourself.

I see your point NetSquirrel.  All credit to Clanad as he/she obviously takes the time to research the questions people ask that the askers did not take themselves but if I research the answer to a question I will always credit the website or more often than not I will rewrite the research I have done in my own words as I think that they are better (bigheaded maybe!!).

If material is lifted from another site it should always be credited.

Some askers may want this site as a pointer on where to go next. Some askers may have done their research before hand and just want a comparison of facts and opinions. So not all askers coming in here are lazy.

After all this is the answer bank it's purpose is to share knowledge, it doesn't matter how trivial the questions maybe, it's your choice to whether to answer the questions or not.

Thanks for the reminder, Net Squirrel. In most cases, I do recognize the source and so state that.  It was overlooked in this case...

I'm sure that most answers displayed in this site have their genesis elsewhere.  Some use internet sites, while others use written sources, and in some cases, the knowledge is inherent.  They are, nonetheless, still valid.  Again, sincere thanks for your reminder...

I should apologise as well - I do tend to overreact when I encounter one of my "pet peeves".

Keep up the good work Clanad

A small point, perhaps, but since this is a '.co.uk' site we should perhaps spell it "colourless" and "odourless".

(No offence, Clanad !!, I know you are in the US, and I for one, appreciate all your posts, especially those on geology ! )
