Mr Straw told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that the law will be changed "as quickly as possible".

It is clear that even if such measures are introduced, they will only apply in a very small number of cases and they will be of the most serious nature.
At the moment you must identify yourself to the court when giving evidence. The main reason for this is so that the defendant is able to challenge evidence which may be given maliciously.
