does anyone know how itv catch up works. I have got the bbc media player which allows you to download previous bbc programmes and watch them, but cannot work out how the itv one works. I have tried to get two episodes of a programme that I missed, but cannot work out how to download them. The only thing I can see is that is is supported by freeview and something about a freeview player. Does this mean you have to buy one of these freeview hard drive players before you can get past programmes of itv. I already have a sky plus box so wouldn't want one of those, but it seems a bit unfair that you can't get past itv programmes unless you have one of these. Anyone done this?

ITV Catchup is currently not a download service; it allows you to watch programmes online which aired up to 30 days previously. The service is sponsored (not supported) by Freeview i.e. they are advertising themselves.

ITV Catchup is a horribly user unfriendly service because being of a commercial nature you have to watch a handful of adverts before you get to the programme, with ad breaks mid programme also.

From next month BT Vision will include ITV Catchup as part of their service thus allowing their customers to watch shows minutes after they are originally aired on ITV, and for up to eight days after first broadcast.

I have just Googled ITV Catchup following on from your Question and got straight into it with no problems. Worked the same as BBC I player.
The thing I hate about ITV Catch Up is the fact that the programmes I want to catch up on are not available. I have missed episodes of The Bill or Midsomer Murders in the past and Catch Up does not show them.
And the ads drive me nuts.
But at least on ITV you have them on for 30 days rather than the measly 7 days on BBC i player.
