Does anyone know the time span that the council should fix it?
I reported it straight away and they won't even tell me when they are coming out.
We are freezing me and my little boy plus I am ill.
What a time for it to go as it's snowing here too

Hi lil23
They should have an Engineer out to you sometime today. Depends on how many emergency calls they have to attend.
Hopefully you will have it fixed within a few hours.
Deep snow here today too.
Fingers crossed for you. xx
O poor you -I have no idea how long it'll take but I just felt so sorry.

Just have to snuggle up with a duvet wrapped around you xxx

I live close to Cruella and we have had a real heavy snowfall during the night -first time its been so early in years.
lil
Forgot to say, they always quote they will put it on a 24 hour emergeny line.. but I am sure you will get someone today.
Hi Dris, yes, we have a lot of snow this morning.
Keep cosy lil. xx
i want deep snow send it this way ! lil hope your boiler is fixed really soon ..my other half is a plumber do u want him lol
hope you get it fixed soon as has been said they should class you as an emergency.....its freezing here today as well...an i have to drive to london today as well........ohhh joy....lol.....
the council normally have an out of hours emergency line, they should come out tomorrow morning otherwise. hopefully
I assume you've already rung your emergency number hun , they are supposed to send someone to at least look at to see if it can be fixed , I know their emergency help isn't all it's meant to be though if it's anything like my housing association one. I would have thought where there's children though that you would have to be entitled to get someone out today . You poor lass .xxxxx
As cazz says they must have an out of hours service, ring them explain exactly what has happened, don't get angry with them or it will be delayed, they should respond within a few hours where the elderly or children are involved, once you have spoken to them if nobody appears within say 2 hours ring again and keep on at them untill you get some sense.

Good luck, Ray
Lil123 you will be priority as you have a child ...
hope they fix it some ..do you have an electric
heater you can use ?
in my experience i was without central heating for a week in the winter.as we had children they supplied us with an electric fan heater.
due to waiting on a part .
apparently as long as they provide an alternative , not a chaper one though , then theyre covered.or at least were then.

dunno if its changed.problem is they cant fix it on the spot always , hopefully its a minor glitch and easily sorted.until then wrap up well.

best of luck
Check your local councils website , there may be information there thats more helpful than here.
It depends how old your son is, if they are under a certain age, they should come out today, preferably in a few hours....ahh what a time to have this happen, ring them back on the emergency line, thats what I would do and ask them when you should expect them...hope they do it soon x
Problem is its more common than you think , as the heating systems more used in the winter , so ther may be a lot more broken also.
Make sure youre warmly wrapped up stay in ine room and try to keep any heat in.
legend,
That is still in place with councils.
They provide an electric fire if the boiler requires a new part that is not in stock.
Really, it is all down to how many other repairs the Engineer has to attend today. He has no way of knowing how long each repair will take.
They will be out today at some point.
Small consolation, I know.
Let us know later if they have fixed it.
Hi Lil,

Hope yours is fixed soon, especially in this weather.

I have just been through the same thing, but mine was not council and had to put a new boiler in completely.

Keep on at the council!

They came out really quickly I was surprized!
It is working again now but it is very old so it may keep packing in.
This is the great advantage of living in a rented house or I would be looking at a big bill today !!
Glad you are cooking on gas again lil.
Have a nice evening. xx
