My boiler has broken down

Does anyone know the time span that the council should fix it?
I reported it straight away and they won't even tell me when they are coming out.
We are freezing me and my little boy plus I am ill.
What a time for it to go as it's snowing here too

I would have thought where there's children though that you would have to be entitled to get someone out today . You poor lass .xxxxx
As cazz says they must have an out of hours service, ring them explain exactly what has happened, don't get angry with them or it will be delayed, they should respond within a few hours where the elderly or children are involved, once you have spoken to them if nobody appears within say 2 hours ring again and keep on at them untill you get some sense.
Good luck, Ray

in my experience i was without central heating for a week in the winter.as we had children they supplied us with an electric fan heater.
due to waiting on a part .
apparently as long as they provide an alternative , not a chaper one though , then theyre covered.or at least were then.
dunno if its changed.problem is they cant fix it on the spot always , hopefully its a minor glitch and easily sorted.until then wrap up well.

legend,
That is still in place with councils.
They provide an electric fire if the boiler requires a new part that is not in stock.
Really, it is all down to how many other repairs the Engineer has to attend today. He has no way of knowing how long each repair will take.
They will be out today at some point.
Small consolation, I know.
Let us know later if they have fixed it.
