because the bottom branches will be growing out onto my drive .where i have to access with the car
frank- we have a 40 ft monkey tree and we have cut the branches to about 15 ft up because it was becoming dangerous with the kids-those branches are deadlysharp. Anything we do to that tree does not kill it or harm it in anyway. At the moment our drive has a load of flagstones sticking up because of it's roots. I would say if you cut the bottom branches off it'll be fine but I'm not taking any responsibility cos I'm sure our's has a mind of it's own. We have pigeons roosting in it, and we have the balls of monkey nuts growing at the top. It just lives on and on.

Thanks did not no about the roots ,or the monkey balls .thanks
The Monkey Puzzle Tree was around in prehistoric times so I doubt very much if you will harm it in any way, it must be pretty tough to have survived to this day and age
