A C Troll-I have seen you post on here some links to websites that offer free clean up facilities for Pc's.

Would you mind telling me again what ones they are.

My P'c is ever so slow even though it is only a few months old and not overly used. Thought perhaps something like this may help.

Thanks in advance. To everyone who has answered.

worth it's weight
You know, software packages like CCleaner are useful to have, but are not necessarily a cure-all for slow running PCs - especially in your case, where you haven't had it long.

More likely problem is your computer is not a high enough spec to cope. What version of Vista do you have, what is the processor type & speed and how much internal RAM do you have? (Right-click 'My Computer->Left-click Properties' for these answers)
absolutely sput ... there never is a definitive answer .... but ccleaner should be on every machine (in my opinion) .... but it's only 1 aspect of many the people "should" do
cheaper than more ram (which is probably the next option if cc fails to make any difference

Thanks everyone.

I have done ccleaner and my pc does run much better. I have since found out that I need to add more memory as I only have 512mb running Vista basic. I am surprised that systems are sold with insufficient memory but thats PC World for you.

Thanks again everyone, good advice as always.

don't go mad with the ram

1Gb(extra) should be enough (you'll probably get away with just another 512 ... but I doubt there'll be that much price difference.....

I have been quoted 30.00+vat to have an extra 1gb installed. Including labour. Will also install Trend Security and they will run a scan on it too.
