ive to have my back wisdom tooth taken out today and to be honest im petrified!! ive only ever heard of wisdom tooth removal carried out under general anastectic (asleep) but im getting mine out just normal way. Im so scared. :(
yeah its causing me pain, been on antibiotics since last week to clear up infection. But so many people are saying oh i thought you had to have a general anastectic to have that taken out who's your dentist then .....now im brickin' it !!!!
I had mine out under a local too, and yes it did hurt but a few minutes of pure pain is worth it to be free of ongoing niggly pain surely.. if all else fails and you really can't face it...
Tie your tooth to a door after drinking 3 glasses of the best Jack!!!
my daughter (22) was told last night at dentist he needed to take one of hers out but she dare not let him - even though she is suffering badly. I had all 4 of mine out in hospital and im glad i did. Be good to hear how you get on and what you thought of it afterwards so that i can (hopefully)reassure her. im sure it will be fine. Good luck.
ah bless you, well in the 60's it was a horror story, general anesthetic, bruises and pain and 2 weeks in Barnet General, had one out last year with a local dentist, it took about 5 mins and was painless and no blood or anything, I was so surprised and pleased, you'll be OK. Obviously it all depends whether the tooth is impacted with or without divergent roots.
Hello buzybee , the modern dentist will inject the area efficiently so you shouldn't feel the tooth being pulled apart from the pressure of him / her pulling and wiggling it.
If you can , come back here when it's all over and you can hopefully tell us how painless it eas honey . xxxxx
I had all 4 of mine taken out while I was awake, it was horrific! My nose felt like it was going to break and when I got out I threw up and then passed out. The sorest bit for me was when the anasthetic wore off and half my head had the pins and needles sensation! If you're only getting one out you'll be fine, i think it was just as I had 4 out! Hope you've had it out by now and are ok, let us know! x
Hey all,
just back from the dentist. quickest 15 mins of my life. the needle part was the worst and the not knowing! but honestly after that i didnt feel a thing it was out in a flash. granted now the anestectic is wearing off its uncomfortable & painful and my lips feel like ive overdosed on collagen lol!! but all went well considering i was a nervous wreck.
a big thanks to everyone for your comments and reassurance it ment alot x x
Hi love , bet you're back and settled , relieved that it's over , and reassured that you only just feel the needle and then nothing , and amazed at the speed it's out in eh.
It will take a while to heal but the swelling should go down and the incessant dribbling ease soon . All the best hun xxx
