A few weeks ago I posted that I was having really heavy periods and mid cycle I was in a lot of pain and had bled after sex.I took your advice & went to doc who didnt think it was fibroids as I had thought, but has asked me to take some medication for 3 cycles & if no better to go for scans etc.

Well this week my tummy has been really swollen - I look 4 months pregnant(im not!) and today I have been sick, cant barely do my jeans up and it really hurts to press my tummy. Now I have 2 worries.

1 - is it something more sinister, and if not then what is making me bloat up so much - I look ridiculous.

2.There has been a lot of talk on here this wk about alcohol & its effects, and I said I had been drinking quite a lot of wine in the evenings for the last year due to pressures. And I spotted on another thread that severe liver damage causes a swollen stomach.I couldn't possibly have liver damage after just a year or drinking a lot of wine could I or am I being paranoid?

I really dont want to go to the doctor.

Not having a good week am I !!

Go to the doctor.
depends how much wine; but a couple of glasses a night would usually be thought of as a pretty normal amount (assuming there's some food to help soak it up). A whole bottle a night might be pushing it, as would an equivalent amount of beer. You don't sound like an alcoholic to me and I wouldn't have thought your liver is dead on its feet just yet. But Octavius is right - off to the doctor with you!

I'm with the others kazzi...go to the docs! I wouldn't like to make any suggestions, but like jno has said I very much doubt it's liver damage unless you have been supping really copious amounts of booze every night.

Hope you get it sorted!

Go to the doctors. Worrying about liver damage etc will only stress you and make you feel worse.

Just to add, if you are under any pressure or stress it may be an acid problem with your stomach or IBS

If my mums ever stressed she feels bloated and sick for days on end.

Kazzianne - There are a number of conditions that can cause the symptoms you describe. All of them will be aggravated by stress. As you may or may not have gathered I am not a great advocate of GP's and western medicine but on this occasion I will make an exception. Please take the advice and get to the Docs asap today. Love and light - Amara xx

Kazzianne - it was me who posted about the swollen stomach and liver damage and it was only just ONE of the many symptoms that my husband had so I really wouldn't worry about it being that and also, with your other symptoms it sounds like 'womens problems'. I would go back to the doctors though - he wouldn't know for certain whether it was fibroids or not without a scan so tell him you want one.

Hi everyone.I cant get to see the doctor today - b/f cant get away from work and so I have to do a 2 hr round trip to collect his child from childminder s its his wkend to have her.Im getting so stressed.Im trying to find a top to waer that hides my tummy - I look awful.

medslave - thanks for that.Im hoping its a woman thing as its hurting so much but Im just hoping it will go down fairly soon.x
Kazzianne - why don't you try something like Windeze or something like that to ease wind (I'm not being funny but it's a starting point) and see if it helps. Paracetamol? Let us know how you get on.
kazzianne, I really really think you need to get seen today! If you can't get to the docs, get yourself to the hospital! Tell your bf you are ill and that he'll have to collect his child! You can't keep going on in pain and not feeling well, it will just make you more stressed which will aggravate it even more! Do you have a family member that could go with you or take you to hospital? I'm worried for you!!

thankyou ktlou - I dont have any relatives here - the nearest is 130 miles away.B/F really cant get away - he is heading a very important meeting all afternoon that nobody else can take.I havent told him I feel poorly anyway - he has enough on his plate.Am just hoping it will ease off.:(

Did your Doctor give you a physical examination? If not, you should ask for one when you go back. There are several possible reasons for your problem and they need to be sorted out, sooner rather than later.

Good Luck x

hi,i think you should go to yr gp and ask him if you could have IBS or PID! IBS is irritable bowl syndrom and courses yr tummy to blot and can make you sick it is also very painfull, PID is pelvic inflametory deaese which is not a nice thing to have it also coureses your tummy to blot and make you sick and you get bleeding after and during sex,if its IBS im afraid it as not cure for it just a well balance diet,PID is not so good it can be treated with antibiotics but 9 times out of ten it comes back.sorry to be so glum .please go to your gp as soon as you can and mention these things.good luck
