Hello, what are the procedures if a woman goes to her GP and says that her and partner have been trying but have had no joy.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I have just been doing the same as you Feelinlost. My GP sent me for a blood test, a week before my period was due and then another on days 2 to 6 of my period, to first check my hormone levels and ovulation.
The next step she tells me would for my partner and I to go for further tests, as Daffy said, a sperm count for your partner and other tests for you, which I can't remember.
After that, if they feel it necessary, you may need to take fertility drugs, which I believe are either injectable hormones or a nasal spray. If that all fails, then you may be referred for IVF. This depends on what part of the country you live in and the criteria your Health Authority requires.
