I want a cheap coffin, no frills or flowers and a basic cremation.

I do however want a lengthy service beforehand so my nearest and dearest will HAVE to listen to my favourite tunes without yelling at me to turn it down.
I already have the playlist planned, starting with "Here I Go Again on My Own" by Whitesnake
Hi petal54, I have been to more funerals this year than I care to remember :( most have been quite sombre. I want a Humanist celebration and have been thinking of the songs that I want played. If I am being flippant I say "Relight my Fire" by Take That when I go into the big fire (crematorium) but realistically its going to be something uplifting. :)
Hi petal54. Snap I was at the funeral of a 96 year old uncle on the 7th of this month and we had exactly the same conversation.
I was mortified at the last song they played which was Matt Munro's Softly As I Leave You.
It has stuck in my head and I cry when I hear it now.
So I want as many High energy Gospel numbers as possible because I would like a celebration of the life that was rather than death that has come.
Your Love is Lifting Me
And any upbeat gospel.
As I go in or the commital as they call it, I want The End by the Doors. In the End by Linkin Park.
H wants Life is a Caberet Or Wish you Were Here by Pink Floyd.
My son David would like Shine on You Crazy Diamond.

i want to be dumped into the sea with bick concrete blocks tied to me so i dont float up again,

an at the service i want "dont worry be happy" played by bobby McFerrin
I work with the elderly and have whit nest death on many occasions it dosnt get any easier to see people die even though they are old and lived a life. i think for me knowing what the end of life can hold i would like to die in my home with my family around me and my funeral to reflect not just my life but also the death i had .morbid perhaps but we live in such a sanitised world we fear death so much we don't talk about it or share our feelings becouse i think if we did we may not be so frightened when the approaches
i also work with the elderly , and this type of conversation pops up a lot with fellow staff as long as people turn up and say she wasnt a bad lass and my kids think i did my best as a mum i dont care if im cremated or buired, anice song would be wind beneath my wings bette midler
Question Author
i want to be cremated,no frills, not sure what,if any, music,my folks want either cremation or buried in garden next to their animals, which would be interesting for future tony robinsons i suppose
Cremated, and thrown off the end of the pier.

Or mixed into the pebbles on Brighton Beach.
Cremated, no flowers , no vicar, just Tina Turner at full blast "Simply the Best", then off to the pub for a noggin or three.
buried with church packed with crying people and people saying she was too good to die
A gleaming black hearse, a sprinkling of Royals walking solemnly behind my coffin, a nice military parade and a service in Westminster Abbey.
What I'll get will undoubtedly very different!
I really couldn't care. I just wouldn't want any hypocrites to be there.
This is a direct 'cut and paste' from my will:
"I desire that my body be cremated without ceremony and that my ashes be disposed of, also without ceremony, in any convenient refuse receptacle"

Chris
Are sea burials allowed in the UK like jukawski suggests?
They aren't allowed in France and that's what my (French)husband wishes.
I'm with you buenchico, but n -liner will do me.Don't get it,why should you want certain songs or ceremonies. You can't see them ,YOU'RE DEAD.
that should have read BIN LINER-don't know what went wrong there, spooky!
