I am cooking a ferocious curry, and have Don Giovanni playing in the front room. My god, MOZART!
I love Brahms (violin concerto, 1st symphony, German Requiem), Rachmaninov (2nd symphony especially, and Vespers), Sibelius (2nd symphony), loads more.
But there is something about Mozart. However many times you hear him, he stops you in your tracks. I have had to stop cooking 3 times and walk into the front room to get close to the beauty of Mozart.
Has to be Mozart too - Whiffey.............especially any of the big four grand operas. Also Gluck - Orpheus and Eurydice. For utter simplicity - Arvo Part's "Spiegel im spiegel" is incredibly moving.......................... :o)
Get the music in the kitchen.....am going to listen to your suggestions and see what turns me on - am pig ignorant with classics but enjoy Ravels Bolero
