I've just had a bowl of tomato soup, and a crusty roll. Lovely.

I have two commercially available favourites.. both by Baxter's...

'Leek & Potato' but my all time bestest one is their 'Carrot & Chickpea' Soup... It is absolutely flipping gorgeous... very filling, highly nutritious and you also get lots of points cos it's so healthy ! (actually all Baxters soups are healthy hehe....). I don't like Heinz Cream of Tomato cos it tastes of cream (I cannot abide the nasty stuff) .. and gives me heartburn...
Thanks Bensmum, I'll dig the recipe out.
I love homemade watercress soup as well :) and Brocolli and Stilton like bensmum!

Love Oxtail and beef broth too.
OOh and chicken noodle simmer soup.
and smoked haddock chowder!
I can give you my recipe for watercress soup if you need it Rosetta - it's easy
ooo, yes please Bensmum
Homemade chicken and rice soup
goong ga-thi naw my soht

Thai prawn & bamboo shoots in coconut milk.
You need
Bag watercress
2 small/med potatoes
1 med onion
1 - 1.5 pints veg. stock (try 1 pint - you can always add more water later)
Little olive oil
I usually take most of the leaves off the watercress stems and leave for later. Fry diced potato, onion and watercress stems in the oil for a few minutes. Add stock and boil gently until potato is cooked through. Leave to cool for a while, then add the watercress leaves. When the mixture is cooled further put it in a blender until the soup is smooth.
I'm hungry now!
(putting the leaves in later keeps it that lovely green colour)
Home made Butternut squash soup

Try this
1 medium butternut (peel & de-pip & cut into 1 inch cubes)
1 pint vegetable stock
1 can coconut milk
1 medium chopped chilli

throw it all in saucepan & boil until butternut softens

then blend it to death

simple & tasty - Just right to warm you up in this weather
Huge thanks to Bensmum and Squitty, Ive written those down. The family love homemade soup so I'll treat them to those two recipes. The added advantage is that thet sound easy-peasy

My hubby once made some tomato soup, but I didn't enjoy it very much - certainly not as nice as Heinz tomato soup.
