They do, if taken properly, and preferably ones which've been prescribed by a doctor. I know someone who lost over 3 st. on some, but she was carefully monitored, because they can increase blood pressure and cause heart palpitations, etc. The tabs also have to be used alongside a careful diet. It's no good taking a pill and then having a pile of chips for lunch. The other thing, is that you have to exercise every day - walking & swimming particularly recommended, becausde the output of energy has to be more than the intake of it (through food). If you do this, you can expect to lose a steady 3-4 lbs a week, and by the time you've reached your goal, your body should've adjusted to taking in less calories. never buy the amphetamine-type tabs which're available on the internet. they can cause serious side effects, such as permanent heart trouble.

Reductil and Xenical work, but have major side effects. You should have a BMI of 30 or over to be suitable and they should only be prescribed by your GP, with regular follow up checks.

Reductil is an appetite suppressant and Xenical removes fat from the body, but the main side effect with Xenical is fat can leak from the anus, unexpectedly.

ROFL @ Velveteee! You're so right! My friend tried Xenical first, and the resulting "side effects" were pretty dire, although another person I know was OK in that department after a week or so's use - possibly because she was more careful about what she ate!

well i am taking pro actol now and they aint working 4 me,so i would say keep ur money in ur pocket.

A colleague at work tried them and she said they are a type of speed. She said she couldn't sleep, she had to be on the go none stop i.e ironing, doing housework at 3am in the morning. She had to pack them in. Sorry didn't get the name of the one she tried.
