how to work out pricing

hi im a painter just getting in to getting tenders from builders.ive had some plans sent to me and im not to sure on how much to charge by the metre, or is there some rough guide to work it out somewhere ? so any advice would be much appreciated

Hi philgeoff, you are asking some strange questions for someone who says they are a painter. You have already been told how to work out how much paint you would need for a certain area so as a painter you should know how long it would take you to put it on. Different painters do take a different amount of time depending on preparation and the like and after working out how long it is going to take you to do it you just need to work out how much an hour you want.
