HI,I just posted this in here, but it seems to of vanished.. sorry if if comes twice now!
My Lo wont eat puree, although he is obviously hungary.
I tried yesterday giving him some banana to suck on, and he loved it. (Iv tried mashed banana and he wouldnt go near it!)
Just wondering what other finger foods would be relativly safe. He will be 6 months on 10th Dec.
Was thinking avacado, but a banana and avacado diet might be a bit blocking!! (and boring)

Has he had pureed food at all, or is this his first "solids"?

My son loves fingers of toast, and the organic carrot sticks you get in tesco. (they're like big wotsits).

If he hasn't had a pureed diet though, they might be a bit hard for him.

What types of puree are you trying him with?

Good luck.
There's a big difference between pureed banana and mashed banana when you're not even six months old! So try pureed food, baby rice is a good one to start with. There's a world of difference between food with lumps and food without!

Finger food is completely different, surprisingly, just put down different foods and see what he will eat. As elginred has said, toast is great, but do introduce lots of different foods with different textures.

I started on baby rice.. he hated it, was suggested to try real food, so we tried, pureed smooth, carrot, swede, sweet potatoe, squash, a jar of baby food and some powdered heinz savoury food, oh and apple, banana, pear with baby rice and baby porridge. All of these foods he has refused, quite adamantly, even to the point of wretching if I do get it past his lips.
The whole banana was just stab iin the dark, and he seemed to really love it
Just wondered if anyone knew of any oither foods that wouldnt be too hard for him too eat. I thought toast would clog in his throat???
My nephew is 5 months and my brother and sis in law feed him a rusk 'melted' in warm milk every evening. He loves it.
could you try him with cooked veg so it is softer but still cubed finger food? melon, strawberries, peaches are soft so may work? good luck!
