Where do I stand legally

I bought a car 3 months ago with 6 months warranty, (2001 model average 65000 miles). After two weeks the water pump packed in and was changed under warranty. Last week the oil pump packed in and within half a mile of the warning light coming on, the engine had seized. I've now discovered the warranty sold with the vehicle has a �500 limit, even though I was told "everything was covered" so I'm now facing a hefty bill. Any advice or links to a website to find out where I stand legally and getting money back or a replacement vehicle of similar value, or anyone have any advice having suffered similar.
