Getting back on topic - yes of course spelling is important, but this isn't a classroom and I don't think it is our business to point out spelling errors some of which may well be typing errors, not everyone is a good typist.

The actual word complained about is all too often mispronounced and as a result written as spoken. But to get people to actually talk in a uniform way would be to take away the lovely local dialects which make this country rather special - IMHO.
