Awning Sizes
5 Answers
My Adria caravan has an awning size of 980, which is a bit of an odd size. Is it better to get an awning which is only just big enough? or get the next size up and possibly have excess fabric? Anybody else had this problem and how did you fix it without expensive alterations?
Any advice welcome Thanks.

You need to run a line through where your awning goes, thats say left to right, but it must go from ground to ground thats how you get your correct length.Lay the tape or whatever you used on the ground and then get a tape measure and do the length, cheers Alan
Personally I would buy the size that would require stretching the most - i.e. the smaller option.
Awnings can be hard to slide through the guides/holders/channel (whatever you call them) along the side of the caravan so here's a tip I was given years ago and it works. Buy an aerosol polish, silicon based, and spray the channel throughout its entire length - the awning will then slide through it quite easily. Sorry if I'm repeating something you already know!!
Hope you have some decent weather next year to enjoy the caravan.
