Nigel's place in France

i forgot to read the article about Nigel's ex, the pretty redhead French mortgage advisor.  Apparantly she was never really his partner; it was all made up.  Can anyone enlighten me?

She said they were never an item and there were quotes from other people saying that he'd 'reherse' (sp?)  lines before filming.  They never slept together - although he maintains that he's old fashioned and that he concidered her his girlfriend.

Nippy also admitted that they 'spiced' things up on occasion and there was also a bit about the fact that they only hired the restaurant till August so it would never have been long term anyway.

Thanks Englishbird, I did feel some of the stuff was a bit contrived meself.  Also, how does he come to buy or rent these places, run them for a pittance, become broke and live in a tent, have a near-nervous breakdown and then buy a yacht in some posh French place? And why did the nice Sikh bloke keep coming to help him out?  they clearly hated one another.

 I loved the series but am looking upon it now, wondering if it was all as real as was made out.
