Underfloor heating

When our bathroom was fitted, the underfloor heating used to trip the electrics and were told this was because the system used was too powerful- Although while it did work we had a lovely warm room.
We have just had replacement underfloor heating installed which is pretty much useless and all it does is slighty warm the floor tiles.
The fitted told me it's not supposed to heat the room and our towel radiator would do this. Advise I find questionable since it doesn't. Before I have a fall out with the guy just want to find out if I am right or if we'll have to put up with a cold room! The floor area is very small and would only be about 1m square.

Are you correct when you say that floor area is only 1m square. if this is the only area for the underfloor heating then it would have to very warm/hot to warm a bathroom and then it would probably be too hot to stand on.

A decent electric UFH system is rated around 200W per square metre. I fail to see how this would trip the electrical supply - equally if that is all the floor space you have, it isn't going to warm the room either.

I agree with buildersmate regarding the fact that it would be questionable that the u/f heating would trip anything out by demand alone. If however it had a fault on it, possibly intermittent then that would cause a problem. I have installed a couple of systems but these have always been on a mat and a metre square was not available, at that time, as far as I can recall these have to be on a seperate supply to anything else and don't forget that a bathroom is classed as a special location by the IEE, so anybody working on electrical equipment within that area must hold a part P certificate. It's been a long time since I done My 16th edition, but I know that the part P thing is still compulsory. Towel rail, yes I had one In a bathroom 8 ft square and that did provide a good heat source and dried the towels provided you don't have the window open all day. I would be inclined to ask to see his certification before going any further.
