The shrubbery squad did however manage a few hits between them.
First to fall was RAIN MAKER when evsajo as player #3 collected her 2 points.
and then almost immediately, at 9:02 centrino collected the 2 points for GREEN WELLIES
Next to go was GRECIAN BEND giving 2 points to cliffyg and also Strix who was within the regulation 2 minutes.
Now that was a totally new term to me, but considering I'm not in the habit of wearing a bustle, suely I may be forgiven.
Three quarters of an hour later, the final link of BOG LATIN appealed to Kettledrum (and no-one else!) for 2 points.
Who gets the honours this week? With no score higher than 2, and no double-hitters, it is difficult to distinguish between them, but I am going to award the
*** HOTSHOT OF THE WEEK *** to kettledrum for being the only one brave enough to chance her brachius with 'Bog Latin' to claim the final link.

The scorers this week were:
2 Points: cliffyg, centrino, evsajo, kettledrum, & Strix
1 Point: LaneyB, & paulineward
0 Points: All the rest of us.
Previous setters will know how difficult it is to predict the likely scoring on one of these games, but let us just hope that we are all due a good Christmas present in a couple of weeks time. Are you listening dear Princess Slaney ? "It is better to give than to receive"!
On that hopeful note, this is gen2 signing off and passing the scoring back to crofter who should have recovered from any excesses of celebrations by next weekend.

My thanks to gen2 for his marking of the results and to Lady Slaney for "bending" over backwards to get me a couple of points. I shall not, however, reach for the "Grecian 2000" next weekend.
But, don't go soft Lady Slaney the sacred abacus could do with a white, as against a red-hot, Christmas!

Well done to hotshot , kettledrum, and all the scorers.
Many thanks to gen2 for the abacus work.
And, of course, thanks to so many of you for your kind birthday wishes..I don't think I have been particularly generous in return!
Grecian Bend ...obscure? Not in my book..but then I have had the advantage of having to listen to umpteen renditions of this :o)
