Are the 'Stables' so names because that is where the horses of Advocates where kept, or is there another reason for it?

In Scots Law, lawyers otherwise known throughout the United Kingdom as Barristers are known as Advocates, and Advocates Faculties are divided into Groups that are more commonly known as "Stables". Each Stable is run by an Advocates' Clerk. There are currently 12 Faculty Stables in existence, each bearing the name of a Scottish clan, ie Ferguson, McKay, McDonald, etc.
