Great little road test, just surprised they failed to mention it's a Mazda 2, which Clarkson only gave a so-so review to in the Sunday Times

WhiteBear - The road test was split into segments:

Is it practical?

Is it economical?

Is it fun to drive?

Will it break down all the time?

Is it easy to park?

What if I go to a Shopping Centre and get chased by baddies in a Corvette?

etc. etc.

For the 7-second segment headed Is it green? we were treated to 2 stationary shots of the car. The voiceover consisted of two words:

"Yes. Very."

It has been the same for years, Mazda have been borrowing the Fiesta for their small car, and it has never even got close to being rated as highly as the Ford version.

Lots of you missed the point of the 'review' being like the good old days when they talked about fuel economy and roominess, but Clarkson had his own spin on the idea with lots of money spent on the overall review just so he could prove he could rub it in and do a proper review at the same time.

I like the new Mazda 2 but I prefer my sports cars any day....
For my practical boring everyday car I have a Mazda 2 because they're fashionable and cool. Can't beat a Ferrari Daytona though.... ;)
