These dogs urgently needs to find homes - please crosspost (nothing to do with me personally, just crossposting).

Hello All

We are in a worse state than we have ever been in the 8 years I have done
this job!

We have 10 dogs at this moment needing homes, by Friday we will have more,
we only have 12 kennels and if we get any more dogs in WE WILL BE FORCED TO
DESTROY SOME of them, I cannot bear to do this as all the dogs that we have
have come in a terrible state, we have got them all treated and on the mend
and now we may have to make the decision to destroy, it is just not right..
we need help.

Please everyone look at our website www.southglos.gov.uk go to index, then D
then dog of week. The dogs that have been with us longest are Fly, Arthur,
Nellie, Nora, and Zeb. Apart from Fly all of these dogs are friendly with
people and other dogs, Zeb and Arthur I know like cats, I haven't tested the
staffis yet though. The staffis are lovely little staffis who have poorly
treated and deserve a chance, THEY GET ALONG WELL TOGETHER AND HAVE SHOWN NO
AGGRESSION TO ANY OTHER DOGS.

By Friday if nothing claimed, and it looks like it won't be, we will be
looking for homes for a blind spaniel, a gorgeous young male rotti, and 3
legged terrier as well.

PLEASE IF THERE IS ANYWHERE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP RING ME, CELINE 01454
863824 OR 07810180750

EVEN IF YOU ARE A LONG WAY AWAY WE WILL TRY TO GET TRANSPORT SORTED

I knew i shouldnt of looked but i did , : (
people are so cruel ,getting a dog and treating them like they have been treated in your descriptions , i hope they find new homes soon before the enevitable happens ...
paul ogrady has had dogs on his show appealing for new owners , could you find some way / help on re homing the dogs in a similar way i wonder ?
good luck in your quest xx
sorry just re read your post and you were just highlighting the plight of the dogs, oops
Bless their hearts! I would if I could but I have a flat, cat and work during the day :(

Have they tried appealing in the local media, TV, radio, newspapers etc...?

How about a campaign to raise more money for more kennels, get the local schoolkids involved.

Sorry I don't know any more, other than this is a local authority dog warden service, and these are all strays that have not been reclaimed. They seem to be doing a great job over and above what they need to by law. Obviously a very caring dog warden.

Since posting I have received this update:

Just to let everyone know flash the lurcher is sorted, reg the collie is sorted,
blind spaniel is sorted

It is nora, Nellie and zeb now that really need homes and of course fly...please
help with the staffies!
This makes me so sad. I would have them all if I could afford it.

This appeal is just the tip of a huge iceberg countrywide, and it's getting worse.

:o(

I have cross posted on Rescue Helpers Unite, I cant bear to look at the link myself though.

Thanks to the internet, I have received the following great news:

Please can we say a huge, enormous thank you to everyone who has offered to help
with our unclaimed stray dogs. We have now homed or secured rescue places for
all except the two young male Staffie crosses. If anyone could still help with
these it would be lovely but the immediate crisis seems to have passed. THANK
YOU!!!

Celine and Celia

Great stuff in such a short time. I hope this makes people think twice before bringing even more dogs into the world,
you never know where they are going to end up.
