What do you think of the Windass family?
First impressions, I don't like them but will they grow on us?

Does anyone know of any family like those dreadful Connors or Windasses - and anyway what has happened to Michelle's "other son"?
I know it is only "fictional" but why didn't Jerry Morton "vet" the family before renting his house surely there were plenty of other takers! Not very nice for Gail and other respectable families and will they pay their rent! They left a house after installing a 1500 kitchen!! Not ideal , but no doubt we will get used to them {maybe} They must have made an impression as we are discussing them!!!
I must be thick then as I enjoy Corrie.
First impressions not good of Windass family. Rather over the top stereotyping with the young chap smashing the door in. Unlikely behaviour I thought as they are going to have to live there.
However I didn't like the Battersbys or the Mortons but got used to them so heyho!

hi fellow thickos... ;o)....
Yes, I groaned when I found out they were going to move onto the street. Not a very original storyline is it? There'll no doubt be complaints & they will eventually be calmed down.
Why is it that no one ever moves onto the street who doesn't actually speak to anyone for at least 12 months, if ever? (At least they wouldn't have lines to learn lol!) That's how it seems to be where I live now. We all knew each other at one time but as people leave or pass away the new ones just scuttle in & out & ignore anyone trying to be friendly.

Thanks for all your answers except terambulan!
The Battersby's got on my nerves right from the beginning and Janice still does, so I'm thinking at the moment that Mrs Windass might be ok but the blokes, well I can't see me taking a liking to them.
The storyline in itself is unbelievable.
Unless I've missed something I thought that with having a new kitchen fitted in their other home then they must have owned it, you don't usually fit new kitchens into a property you are renting,so how can they have been evicted? Although Jerry couldn't 'vet ' them, the Estate Agents would need references, and would vet them also.
I know it's fictional but surely there should be some credibility (sp?) about it?
