New lawn

I need some advice about a new lawn please.Because we already have two lawns we didnt really want another one so we put weed control down.the trouble is that its come loose because of the wind and weeds are pushing through and it looks dreadful.Can we put weedkiller on the weeds or will that affect the growth of the new lawn when we do it in the spring. Also are we better putting turf down or doing it from seed .I might add that we are only amateur gardeners .My son says we should dig it over and scatter flower seeds over it to make a wildlife garden to attract more wildlife.What do other gardeners think Thankyou.

I agree with your son. Bees are on the decline due to a parasite killing them, and without bees we are all doomed if they become extinct. So get weaving and give them as many flowers as possible to help us all.

Thank you very much for your reply shazam. Sorry for the delay in replying.Ive made my mind up a wildlife garden it will be and we ll have no extra mowing to do .Thanks once again
