First aid certificate

im more than a little annoyed, the awarding body that did my First aid in the work place certificate appears to have closed, literally some new body has taken it over and i need to desperately check whether the course i took is hsa approved. The head honcho first aider was asking today and im not sure i know it was 2 days 8 hours intense training course but my certs dont say whether its hsa approved, oh help someone please!

The only reason I mention this is that you need to know where to start next, and if I were you I'd start by contacting whichever body applies and asking them if the company was accredited, rather than trying to chase a company that now doesn't exist.

If it was a First Aid at Work certificate then the training provider will need to be HSE registered.
Ask them what their HSE number is and then check the number out with the HSE.
If the course was Emergency Aid/Appointed Person, the training provider does NOT need to be HSE registered.
If you are renewing a First Aid at Work Certificate you ned to start your renewal BEFORE the date your current certificate expires. If you don't, you will have to do the whole course again.
From 1st October 2009 the system is changing.
